Lost in the Peninsula
Today we had to go to my friend, Yvonne's baby's 1st birthday party. We woke up kinda late because of our date the night before. But I still wanted to take Wobi to the dog park to get him tired. Being so close to Costco, I succumbed to temptation and ran in for some much needed items.
By the time we headed out for Belmont, it was 3ish. Rich wrote down the directions from mapquest because we were too lazy to bring the computer down to print it out. Of course, when you write down directions, you don't jot down the distance.
Since Kaboom and the Battle of the Bay was going on that night, we decided to stay away from the Bay Bridge. We took the San Mateo instead and made it off the bridge in less than 45 minutes. We got a little turned around though, and went the wrong direction from the bridge. Then we found our exit and followed the directions for the 1st couple of streets.
Then, we couldn't find Broadway. We drove through Belmont, then Redwood City, then San Carlos. We finally asked the gas station and they said keep on going for 2 more lights. Those 2 more lights turned out to be about 4. But it was the wrong Broadway. Finally, I pulled over to give Yvonne a call. She said to come back and that it was only a couple of streets away from Ralston.
So we headed back but didn't see Broadway. We figured it must be on the other side of Ralston. This time we didn't go as far before asking someone. They said, keep on going the way we were going....Broadway is that way. So, we kept on going until we got to San Mateo. Dammit! How many Broadways are there in this frickin' road.
Finally we found it! It took us 2 long ass hours to find the house! We got there at 5! Good thing it was a pilipino party. It was still going strong when we got there.
