BBQs Galore
We headed out to the Laxas a little later than we hoped. We were scheduled to be in Richmond by 530, so I wanted to get there as close to noon as possible.
We got there around 1. Laurie and the boys gave us the grand tour of their abode. I'm so happy for you guys....the house is perfect for you!!! While we were there, the boys entertained Camren with their Game Cube, and we caught parts of Dodge Ball and Napoleon Dynamite. As we were leaving at 3, the Chateau crew (sans Herna) drove up. I heard we missed a lot of the LIKHA peeps.
We still had to go to Costco, Albertson's, make bruschetta, drop off Camren, wait for Jake to get picked up, and go to Rich's bro's place by 530. Yeah right!
We didn't get there until almost 7!
They weren't TOO hard on us. It was a belated birthday party for "mom". It was just the 3 boys and their significant others. Oh yeah, and Greg..."mom's" husband.
They are way too funny a bunch. I had a really good time chatting away at the dinner table.
They live in Marina Bay, in Richmond. So, their patio view was the berth, with a bunch of sailboats docked. The city of Richmond does their fireworks on the 3rd, so they were launching them off a barge over the boats. Very pretty....but frickin' windy!
We ended up staying until midnight. But on our way out, a train was sitting on the tracks, blocking the street. Some drunk idiot ran into the arm that comes down when trains cross the tracks. The train conductor had to tell everyone to turn around. We thought we were going to spend the night at Pete & Laura's but they ended up giving us another route to head home.
I'm glad we did, because the big horsey, Kobi, was so happy to see us!
